A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) connects many home and business batteries so they can be coordinated to support the grid, usually in exchange for credits or payments. From 1 July 2026, NSW offers a one-off incentive for homes and small businesses that connect an existing battery to a VPP, and solar is not required. Joining can be worthwhile, but it involves trade-offs that are easy to overlook in the sign-up process.

We install and support batteries from Sigenergy, GoodWe, Fox ESS and Sungrow, and we understand how battery settings, monitoring and communications work in practice. We do not push you into a program: if joining a VPP does not suit your household or business, we will tell you. Where firmware updates or settings changes are needed, our team can arrange them, and any electrical work is done by our licensed electricians.
NSW homes and small businesses with an existing battery that are considering joining a Virtual Power Plant.
From 1 July 2026, the NSW incentive is up to $1,000, one-off, for homes and small businesses that connect an existing battery to a VPP. Check current eligibility on the official NSW page before enrolling, because program details can change. A genuinely off-grid system cannot join a VPP.
VPP programs typically allow the operator to charge or discharge your battery at certain times. In return you may receive credits or payments, but the battery may have less stored energy for your own evening use or for backup during an outage. Some programs are tied to a specific electricity plan, which may not be the best plan for you.

2. We check compatibility with available VPP programs and review your energy use.
3. We explain the trade-offs and compare suitable programs in plain English.
4. If you decide to join, we help you complete enrolment and the NSW incentive application.
5. We confirm the battery is connected and reporting correctly after enrolment.
The fee is a fixed indicative price per battery system; any settings changes that need a site visit are quoted separately.
Eligibility for the NSW VPP incentive and acceptance into a program are decided by the program operator and NSW rules, not by Blue Energy Solar.
Credits or payments from a VPP depend on program terms and events and are not guaranteed.
Off-grid systems cannot join a VPP.
