An on-site inverter check covering fault logs, firmware, ventilation, string voltages and currents, and grid protection settings, with clear written findings.
$199 (Per inverter), including GST.
The inverter is the hardest-working part of a solar system, converting DC power from the panels into AC power for your property every sunny day. It is also the component most likely to need attention as it ages. Intermittent fault codes, overheating, outdated firmware or incorrect grid settings can quietly cut production long before the inverter stops altogether.
Our licensed electrician inspects the inverter and its installation, reads the fault and event logs, measures string voltages and currents, and checks that the grid protection settings match Australian requirements. The service is $199 per inverter; this is an indicative price, confirmed with you when we schedule the visit.
We install and commission GoodWe, Fox ESS, Sungrow and Sigenergy inverters, and we inspect inverters from most other manufacturers as well. That experience helps us tell a simple settings fix from a failing unit, so you don't replace an inverter that could keep working. Blue Energy Solar is a New Energy Tech Approved Seller with $20 million public liability cover, and all testing is carried out by our licensed electricians.
Solar owners whose inverter shows error messages, trips, runs hot or seems to produce less than it should, or is simply getting older.
Heat and location matter. Inverters in direct afternoon sun or poorly ventilated spaces often reduce output to protect themselves. Relocation or shading may help, and we note this in our findings.
Grid protection settings must suit the Australian inverter standard (AS/NZS 4777.2) and your network's requirements; incorrect settings can cause nuisance disconnections. Firmware updates depend on the manufacturer and model, and some need an internet connection. Faults on inverters still under warranty should go through the manufacturer's claim process before any repair, and our test results help you prepare the claim. The price covers one inverter; battery and panel testing are separate.
1. Request an inspection and send a photo of the inverter label and any error message.
2. We confirm the price and schedule a visit, ideally on a sunny day.
3. Our licensed electrician reviews the logs, measures the strings and checks settings on site.
4. We explain the main findings on the day where possible.
5. You receive written findings and a quote for any repair or replacement needed.
The price covers one inverter; additional inverters, batteries and roof inspections are quoted separately.
String measurements need adequate sunlight, so visits may be rescheduled in poor weather.
Firmware updates are only carried out where supported by the manufacturer and approved by you.
Repairs, parts and replacement inverters are not included and are quoted separately.
Warranty claims are assessed and decided by the equipment manufacturer.
