Factories, cold stores and manufacturing sites use large amounts of electricity during the day and often have the roof area to generate a meaningful share of it. Industrial solar turns that roof into a productive asset. At this scale, good design is about far more than panel count: roof structure, network protection, electricity tariffs and the way the site operates all shape the result.

Our starting point is a 100 kW system, from $89,000 installed. This is an indicative starting price; the final fixed price is confirmed in writing after engineering, network requirements and a detailed site assessment.

What's included

  • Load and tariff analysis from interval data, including demand charges
  • Structural engineering assessment of the roof and mounting system
  • Protection studies and the network connection application
  • Design with premium JA Solar panels and commercial inverters
  • A staged delivery plan to suit production schedules and budgets
  • Installation by SAA-accredited installers, with electrical work by our licensed electricians
  • Site-level monitoring, commissioning and handover documentation

Why Blue Energy Solar

We treat industrial solar as an engineering project, not a product sale. Many industrial bills include demand charges based on the site's highest peak, and solar does not always reduce that peak if it happens early in the morning, late in the day or on a cloudy afternoon. We model your data honestly, show where solar helps and where a battery or load management could do more, and plan construction around safety, access and production. Our team works within your site safety requirements from the first site visit to final commissioning.

Recommended for

Manufacturers, cold stores and industrial sites with large roofs and significant daytime electricity demand.

Certificates: the certificate type depends on system size. Systems within the small-scale scheme limits create STCs at installation, while larger systems are handled under a different certificate scheme. We confirm this in your proposal, and you should check current certificate values before signing.

Batteries: NSW business battery incentives started on 1 September 2026 for eligible business batteries from 20 kWh up to large commercial and industrial scale. For eligible combined solar-and-battery installations, NSW indicates around 30-40% of battery installation cost, depending on circumstances.

Price drivers: roof condition and height, structural works, protection equipment, cable routes and staging. We hold $20 million public liability cover.

Directions

1. Request a proposal and share interval data, tariff details and site drawings.
2. We complete a site assessment, load analysis and preliminary design.
3. Structural engineering and network protection studies confirm what can be connected.
4. You receive a fixed-price proposal with a staged delivery plan.
5. We install, test and commission each stage under your site safety rules.
6. Monitoring goes live and we hand over documentation and maintenance advice.

Warnings

The price shown is an indicative starting price for a 100 kW system; the final fixed price is confirmed in writing after a site assessment, engineering and proposal.
Connection is subject to network approval and may require protection equipment, export limits or network studies.
Roof repairs, structural strengthening or asbestos-related works are excluded and quoted separately if required.
Tenants require written landlord consent before works start.
Staged projects are priced per stage and scheduled by written agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sometimes, but not always. Demand charges are usually based on the highest demand recorded in a billing period, and if that peak happens when solar output is low, solar alone will not lower it. We check your interval data to see when peaks occur. Where solar cannot shift them, a battery or load management may be the better tool.

Large arrays add weight and wind load to roofs that were designed years ago, sometimes for different purposes. An engineer confirms that the roof sheeting, purlins and fixings can carry the system safely, and specifies the mounting method. This protects your building, your insurance position and the long-term performance of the system.

Larger systems can affect the local network, so networks commonly require studies showing the system will disconnect safely and will not cause voltage or fault issues. The outcome may require protection relays or export limits. We prepare the technical information, work through the network's process and design the connection to meet its conditions.

Yes. Staging suits sites with multiple roofs, budget cycles or production areas that cannot all be disrupted at once. Each stage is designed to work on its own and connect cleanly to the next. We agree the order, timing and price of each stage in writing before any work begins.
