One package for blackout resilience: an LFP battery with a backup-capable inverter, essential circuits on a backup sub-board and automatic changeover, designed and installed together.
From $10,490 (Battery + backup, installed), including GST. Indicative starting price: the final fixed price is confirmed in writing after a site assessment.
Storms, bushfires and network faults can leave homes without power for hours or days, particularly on the urban fringe and in regional NSW. The Blackout Protection Package brings together everything needed to keep your essentials running: a battery, a backup-capable inverter, a backup sub-board for your chosen circuits and automatic changeover. It is designed as one system from the start, so the parts are matched and nothing is left to chance.
The package starts from $10,490 installed, after the federal battery discount. This is an indicative starting price; the final fixed price is confirmed in writing after a site assessment.
Backup is where good design matters most, because you only find out whether it works when the power goes out. We start by asking what you need during an outage, then size the battery, inverter and backup circuits around those answers. We set a sensible backup reserve so the battery is not empty when a storm arrives, and we explain in plain language how the system behaves before, during and after a blackout. If you are in a bushfire-prone or storm-exposed area, we also talk through practical preparation, such as adjusting the reserve before severe weather is forecast.
Solar homes and small properties in storm-prone, bushfire-prone or outage-affected areas that want dependable backup.
Federal discount: the Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes roughly 30% off the installed battery cost, at approximately $272 per kWh for the first 14 kWh and $163 per kWh from 14 to 28 kWh. The battery must be installed with solar, existing or new at the same time, and the value steps down every 1 January and 1 July to 2030. Confirm current values on the official pages before signing.
Solar keeps it going: with a hybrid system, daytime solar can recharge the battery during a long outage, which can extend backup beyond the battery's stored energy.
Limits: backup covers the circuits on the backup sub-board, within the inverter's power rating.
1. Request the package and tell us which appliances matter most during an outage.
2. We assess your solar, switchboard, circuits and a compliant battery location.
3. You receive a fixed-price design listing the battery, inverter and backed-up circuits.
4. Once you accept, we lodge any network paperwork and schedule installation.
5. Our team installs the battery, inverter and backup sub-board as one project.
6. We simulate an outage, confirm the changeover and lodge the discount paperwork.
The price shown is an indicative starting price; the final fixed price is confirmed in writing after a site assessment and quote.
The federal battery discount requires solar at the property, an approved battery and eligibility at the time of installation.
Backed-up loads must stay within the inverter's continuous and surge ratings.
Any network approval required must be in place before installation.
Backup duration depends on battery charge, connected loads and solar output, and will vary.
